Lottie Da :: Digital Designing

Digital design is one of my favorite medias. A project can be started and finished in only a few hours or so. I love the instant gratification!
Right now, I am in the middle of the design process for a new customer who found me on Etsy. She has a "brick & mortar" shop and is looking for a design for her website. Amy was quite helpful and sent over these two great inspiration panels for help in designing. I love this, and love the specifics of her request!! First I had to digitally design the bird and then the tree/flower. Each leaf is created individually, with attention to every detail. I worked on it for a couple hours today, and think I came up with something she might really like! Do you have a favorite?

I'll share the final design once approval is accomplished! I know... you can hardly hold in your suspence!!! Me either!!

New Girly Label sets!

This weekend I introduced a cute new twist on the same 'ole sippy cup labels in my Etsy shop! I am now offering the fondly named "Brielle", "Leah", and "Madison" sets. I had to start with the girly ones, of course! The labels are made of the same waterproof material you have come to know and love from MyTwoBabes and are extremely durable - even my two year old twins can't get them off! ♥♥♥ Coming soon are a few different boy designs, and more labels for you moms! Yay! Stay posted!

Take a Bow in Red - By Bluefox Bags

Take a Bow in Red, originally uploaded by mytwobabes.

Well the Lake Michigan Breeze bag sold this morning! I guess I won't be keeping it afterall!
This Take a Bow bag was so fun to make too! I fell in love with the red print on this placemat, and the handles came as a last minute thought, but I think are perfect for the whimsical feel of the purse, and they don't overpower the bow on the front.
Who wouldn't want to tote this around town?!

Also... I did decide to go ahead with the tutorial... keep posted for future information!

Lake Michigan Breeze - By Bluefox Bags

I think I am in love! { again... ♥♥ }
I was pretty inspired today, and think this bag reflects my mood perfectly! I know I always say this, but I really might just keep this bag!
The outer fabric is a table placemat I purchased at a local imports shop. It is fully lined in chocolate brown twill with two small pockets. It also has a snap closure and wonderful wood handles. The flower is on it's second life... it was once on a sweater I used to own.
I think it just looks so cozy!

In case you didn't realize... I design my purses under the name Bluefox Bags. So yes... it is still me having Creative ADD! ♥♥ I may create a tutorial for making placemat bags... anyone interested?

MyTwoBabes Birthday... sort of...

Britney & Brooke - 2 years!, originally uploaded by mytwobabes.

Today is Britney & Brooke's 2nd Birthday! They are the inspiration behind "MyTwoBabes" and continue to inspire me to do great things, and live better for them!
Thank you God for letting me be their mother for one more year!
What a blessing it has been!

My Etsy bread and butter is the kids name labels, so I have to do a shout-out to them! It is really fun to know that there are kids all over the nation (and beyond!) that are loosing less things, and staying some-what germ free thanks to their new name labels!

In honor of this great occasion, I am offering a $1.00 refund to all those who mention this blog in their notes to seller from now until February 15th. That's right, just mention keyword "Birthday" in your notes to seller at checkout, and you will get $1.00 refunded to your PayPal purchase. Happy shopping! (www.MyTwoBabes.Etsy.com)

Creative ADD

I get inspired by all kinds of things. I have to admit, I feel like I have ADD of a creative mind, constantly hopping from one media to another. Fabric, Labels, Photography, or Digital Web output are all the same to me. All inspired to be an original creation stemmed from the inspiring prints that surround me. This French print is just a small sample of my inspiration. Welcome to my world!

New potholders!

Aren't these just the cutest potholders you have ever seen?!!

They are super easy to make! I watched the video, and made these all in one night... a few evenings later, my sister came over (who is really not so crafty! ♥) and she made some for her home as well! She sewed them up and everything all by herself, and she has no sewing machine experience!

I found the tutorial via my local newspaper. Jennifer Ackerman-Haywood from Craftsanity.com did a write up on Sue, a gal from Borculo, that makes these potholders. While there, Jennifer took a video for YouTube to share with all of us! Check it out - I am sure you'll get hooked!

Fabric & Fleece Scarves

Fabric & Fleece Scarves, originally uploaded by mytwobabes.

I had so much fun crafting over the holidays!
These are some of the fleece scarves I designed originally for myself, but they turned out so cute, I had to keep making more!
They are all lined on the back-side with soft polar fleece, and the front is made of quilted cotton fabrics. I used a couple different designer fabrics I bought on Etsy (Thanks, SewLoveFabrics!) by Heather Bailey, and Amy Butler, but also threw in a super cute Blueberry design using fabric from a table napkin originally made by TAG.
These are not in my Etsy shop yet, but if you are interested, let me know, they are $12.00 each.

Brookey's Blanket

Brookey's Blanket, originally uploaded by mytwobabes.

I just love how this turned out!
It is an altered full-size blanket from the "Shabby Chic" line at Target. The blanket was found at the local thrift store, and was in great shape!
I cut the original blanket in half to make two Toddler bed sized blankets, then bound the edge with satin binding and added the ribbon and satin bow on the front.
I hope Brooke likes it!
